General Hospital Comings and Goings has a fresh face popping in Port Charles in the September 30 episode. It turns out that the role of Lucky and Elizabeth’s son, Aiden Spencer, has been recast! The newcomer Colin Cassidy is taking over the part, replacing Tristan Riggs. Mind you, Cassidy is stepping into his first daytime role and already feels the weight of the opportunity. Check out his thoughts on the exciting new role!
Port Charles Welcomes a New Face
The General Hospital newcomer expressed gratitude for the chance during an interview with Soap Opera Digest. Colin is pumped to work alongside such talented actors and indulge in impactful storylines with them. This new venture is a big deal to him, and he’s fully embracing the experience. Cassidy called it “not something to scoff at.”
Meanwhile, Lucky is about to set foot in Port Charles soon, and we’re looking forward to some thrilling scenes! After being away for so long, his reunion with Liz will surely stir up old feelings. However, things may be even more emotional for their son, Aiden. After all, Lucky Lucky has missed a lot during his absence, including a key moment in Aiden’s life.
Remember when Aiden came out to Liz back in December 2023? Subsequently, the reunion will likely be bittersweet for the lad as he navigates the emotions of reuniting with his dad. It’s going to be a roller coaster of feelings for everyone involved. Cassidy is quickly settling into his role of Aiden and already praises his on-screen mom.
The actor called Rebecca Herbst (Liz) “incredible” and a joy to work with. Now, let’s talk about his real-life family, who are over the moon about his new gig. Colin revealed that his family is even more excited about his debut, saying they’re his biggest supporters. He joked that he might watch his scenes and think, “Eh, I could have done better.”
However, his family will be there to tell him he’s Oscar-worthy. Anyway, this recast marks another chapter in Aiden’s history on the ABC soap. Since his on-screen birth in July 2010, the role has been recast multiple times. Initially, two sets of twins portrayed him as a baby, followed by Jonathan Jackson’s real-life son from 2011-2012.
After that, Jason David and Enzo De Angelis took on the role before Tristan Riggs stepped in earlier this year. Now, Cassidy gets in the mix to play his version of the character. Keep coming back to Soap Opera Daily and don’t miss out on more updates on General Hospital Comings and Goings. What do you think about the new recast? Tell us in the comments.
