Anna Devane and Jack Brennan seem to have become sworn enemies at General Hospital. The two have some shared history from their younger years when they were training with WSB. However, after the raining the two took very different directions in life. Especially in their recent years. While Anna has been trying to work for the good of the people, Jack has relentless self-serving intentions.
Needless to say, ever since Jack Brennan arrived in Port Charles, Anna has been on high alert. She would like nothing more than to either put him in prison or just have him leave town. General Hospital spoilers recall that she did manage to put him behind bars momentarily for his involvement with Pikeman. However, our handsome silver-tongued spy won his freedom in the blink of an eye.
Now, he has stationed himself in PC and is running some mysterious WSB operations from there, much to Anna’s disappointment. We have repeatedly seen her clash with Brennan for some reason or another. However, in the January 2, 2025, episode, she took it to another level altogether. So much so, that several GH fans also called Anna out on an alleged “abuse of power” against Jack Brennan.
In the episode, we saw Anna visiting Jack in his hotel suite. When he was busy taking a phone call, she tased him and handcuffed him to a chair. While it was a thrilling turn of events and a really enjoyable battle of words, we can’t help but wonder if it was necessary. In fact, it’s not just us; many other fans are asking the same question. Anna wanted to tell Brennan to stay away from her granddaughter, Emma.
“Are we supposed to like Anna at this point? Is she heading towards having a breakdown? Or going over to the dark side? Kidnapping Martin, threatening bodily harm, and then tasering Jack over meeting her granddaughter,” a fan questions Anna’s intentions on X. Meanwhile, another states that they “ used to admire Anna but after she used a taser on Jack not anymore. She’s way overstepping & abusing her badge.”
However, there are a few fans who hold a contrasting opinion. They wagered that Jack did send a sniper to take Valentin down in Charlotte’s presence. So, Anna’s fears are justified. But did she really need to tase and handcuff him? Well, we are just going to chart this one to creative liberty and some chuckles. To be honest, Jack and Anna’s back and forth was thoroughly enjoyable.
