Gregory Harrison bid adieu to General Hospital on May 20, wrapping up his four-year stint as Gregory Chase. In the latest episode, fans cried as Gregory’s loved ones said their final goodbyes. Recently, Gregory appeared on the Daily Drama Podcast hosted by Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton to drop some GH inside scoops! The soap actor shared stories from his time on GH and talked about working with veterans like Nancy Lee and Jane Elliot. Check it out below!
General Hospital: Gregory Harrison Recaps His GH Years
Reflecting on his time at General Hospital, Gregory said, “It started out as a 10-show arc three and a half years ago.” He wondered how he was even going to be able to pull that off! “I had never done a soap in my life. I’ve done everything else. I was so scared of it.” Moreover, the whole concept of joining the soap seemed scary to Harrison.
Later on, Gregory sang praises of his co-stars, including Michael Easton (Finn), Josh Swickard (Chase), Nancy Lee Grahn, and Jane Elliot. Talking about Jane, the soap veteran recalled how the soap paired him with Jane for the last six months. The pair got to play and flirt, but there’s one thing Harrison regrets about him getting killed off! He highlighted, “There was this relationship growing between Gregory and Tracy.”
Furthermore, the General Hospital said working with Jane was incredible and called her a force of nature. Gregory even admitted to being so excited to turn up at work because of Elliot. “She blew me away every single day I worked with her,” he added. On the soap, Gregory’s ALS diagnosis marked the end of his time in Port Charles. His family and loved ones knew it all along, but that didn’t make his final days any easier.
In addition, Gregory’s conversation with Tracy feels so poignant and emotional now. He pondered what could have been if they’d met earlier. It seemed like they had almost acknowledged their feelings and the reality of the situation. After all, he was dying, and there was nothing they could do about it. Sadly, their time together was coming to an end! Anyway, it was lovely to see Gregory make it through Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding with Tracy’s support.
In his final moments, Gregory reminisced about his life while lying in bed. Moreover, his last wish was to say goodnight to Violet, hug Chase, and kiss Finn on the forehead. Soon, Chase closed his eyes, lowered his arm, and drifted away. Would you have loved to see Gregory and Tracy together? Share your thoughts in the comments down below.
