General Hospital fans just got hit with a wave of nostalgia! John Stamos and Demi Moore, the icons behind Blackie Parrish and Jackie Templeton, reunited at the AARP Awards. It was a moment straight out of an ’80s soap opera dream. After the event, Stamos lit up Instagram with vintage snaps of him and Demi. Catch a glimpse of the good old days below!
General Hospital: Stamos Reflects on GH Days
So, how did it all happen? The General Hospital alum Stamos presented Moore with the Best Actress award for her stunning performance in The Substance. While everyone celebrated Moore’s feat, GH fans felt butterflies when they saw John and Demi in a single frame.
Soon, the show’s official account posted their pic, writing, “Jackie Templeton and Blackie Parrish – together again!” Oh, the nostalgia! Then, it was John’s turn to craft the perfect tribute for Demi by posting throwback photos that spanned 40 years. He begins with, “We had big hair, big dreams, and enough hairspray between us to single-handedly destroy the ozone layer.”
Moreover, Stamos gushed about Moore’s performance in The Substance. He wrote, “Her performance doesn’t just push boundaries-it flips them the bird and walks away in slow motion.” The actor loved how it addressed different themes and redefined a woman’s worth. But one post wasn’t enough to handle the nostalgia.
So, John posted another picture with Moore and Anthony Geary, aka the legendary Luke Spencer. He captioned it: “More Moore – and the great Tony Geary. Blackie, Jackie, and LUKE!” Fans went wild, with one commenting, “GH was must-see TV!” Meanwhile, another user shared, “I used to run home from school just to watch these three!”
Back to Where It All Began
Now let’s backtrack to the era when Demi and John were a rage! In the early ’80s, Moore played the fearless investigative reporter, Jackie Templeton, while Stamos played a troubled musician Blackie Parrish. Both joined the ABC soap in January 1982 and left in April 1984.
Additionally, neither of them returned to Port Charles as their careers took off like a rocket. While Kim Delaney replaced Demi, Blackie Parrish gets mentioned occasionally. As for their career post-GH, Moore gained full-fledged movie stardom. She joined the Brat Pack in St. Elmo’s Fire and led box office hits like Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, and Striptease.
In the meantime, Stamos made waves with Uncle Jesse on Full House and continued his successful TV career with other impactful roles.
