Former General Hospital star Marcus Coloma has shared an insight into his life. The actor was facing a rough phase in his life because of a deadly disease but now he has overcome it. Taking onto his social media, the Nikolas portrayer revealed that he underwent a heart surgery on November 11, 2024, after which he has got better. Marcus Had A Rare Heart Disease, Arrhythmia
Many of GH fans would remember, General Hospital had to see a major cast shakeup not long ago. Marcus Coloma, who played Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital had suddenly left the soap a few months ago, raising questions. Now, the real reason for his struggle has been revealed. The speculations about him being unfit were true, as it turns out the actor was diagnosed with Arrythmia, a rare heart disease. Marcus had to quit the show because he was not fit to film. Now as he has successfully undergone the heart surgery, he has taken onto to social media to share the great news with his fans. Along with the update he also shared his journey with the disease in detail.
In a video post, he’s seen playing an original tune on piano while sharing his story. The actor mentioned, “For the last three or four years, there was this secret thought in my head that I was dying”. He further added, “I knew I was being dramatic, but it was still there, and it was depressing. And there was something wrong, but no one could tell me what it was.”
The actor explained that after he went to a physical therapist, he found all the reasons behind the that voice in his head. Marcus said, “it was weird, but I got my answers”. He further shared, “I ended up going to a cardiologist and having the procedure done”.
The actor also shared that his condition was rare, and the doctors claimed, ‘In 40 years of my career, and after doing thousands of surgeries, I have never seen a heart like yours.’ Well fortunately the actor is now doing well as he reaffirmed that his issues have been resolved now.
His fans have filled the comment section with well wishes and congratulations for their beloved GH star. The actor has also confirmed “there won’t be any more problems.”
Rumors Regarding His Exit
The actor was a part of General Hospital for three years when he joined the show in 2019 as Nikolas Cassadine. However, he abruptly quit the show. Back then the reason wasn’t revealed back then, but now we know. Sources confirmed that the actor were in agreement with the company that his last scenes will not be shot because of his health complication.
While the actor exited the show abruptly, there were rumors that he was fired and refused to shoot his scenes. But he later on cleared all such myth and said, that he loved the show, it’s team and received same amount of warmth and love on the set of GH.
General Hospital Star Marcus seems to be happy and healthy now which is a relief for the star himself and his fans.
