We recently saw Michael Easton culminate his run as Finn on General Hospital. The splendid actor had been on the ABC soap for decades and played three different characters. But all good things must eventually come to an end, and so did his time on the soap. But we must admit Michael did go out with a stunning bang!
What an incredible performance he gave in his last lap on GH! In June, we saw Finn bidding an emotional goodbye to his daughter, Violet, as he left for his long stint at a rehab facility. He truly did blow our minds with his heartwrenching exit. Turns out, playing that stretch on the screen was no easy feat. Even for a performer as seasoned as Micheal Easton.
In a recent chat with Soap Opera Digest, he admitted that he had to get to a certain place in his psyche to play it all out. “I felt like I left everything out there,” Michael Easton recalled. Furthermore, he added that he got down to the most raw form of his emotions. He stated that for the scenes to be authentic, all he was saying had to be the truth.
“All the words had to be truthful. It just became about committing to it; you had to cleanse yourself of any feelings you had and just invest and commit yourself,” the General Hospital star asserted. But filming the scenes wasn’t the end of it. Michael opened up that even after he was done filming, it took him several days to shake off the feelings he had felt during them.

And you know what helped him finally ease off the emotional toll of it all? The hugs his children, Lilah Bell and Jack, gave him when he reached back home from the sets. Well, we can see that it really takes a lot to put on the screen what we see so casually every day! We really wish Michael all the best for whatever he chooses to do next!
