It’s been over a year since Réal Andrews’ Taggert was seen in Port Charles. The General Hospital actor has been MIA since July 2023. In a surprising update, Andrews spilled tea about his future on ABC soap. In an Instagram video, he got real with his fans, and nobody was ready for the bombshell he dropped. The shockwaves from his announcement were felt all over social media. What could it be?
Réal Teases a Game-Changing Return
The General Hospital actor shocked everyone by uttering the words, “My chapter with General Hospital is over.” That hurt! He admitted that he saw this coming for a while, but he still described it as an incredible journey. Well, many fans started to wonder if Taggert was gone for good since he had been off-screen for over a year.
However, loyal fans were still keeping their fingers crossed and hoped that Port Charles wasn’t done with him just yet. And guess what? Andrews didn’t totally shut the door on his return either, commenting, “Never say never.” Interestingly, Réal also made a big announcement after confirming his exit. “I got offered what is the biggest role of my life,” Andrews revealed.
The news left fans curious and excited! While the actor didn’t spill all the details, he did tease about working with the “biggest and best network.” Additionally, Réal will expand his wings under some of the “best directors, producers, and writers in the industry.” Whoa! If that doesn’t scream huge, what does? Andrews also shared that the project is currently in “pre-production.”
It means we’re in for something big! Now, here’s where we put on our detective hats and try to join the dots. Could the GH alum join the cast of Beyond The Gates since it’s a new soap headed to CBS? Furthermore, CBS is one of the biggest networks around, checking a lot of the boxes Andrews hinted at! After all, he has already carved out a terrific daytime career with roles on multiple soaps.
These include Days of Our Lives, All My Children, As the World Turns, Port Charles, and Santa Barbara. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if he added Beyond The Gates to that list, would it? Even if the current descriptions for BTG characters don’t seem to fit Réal perfectly, the soap is still in “pre-production.” Keep your eyes peeled for this one—it’s going to be big!
