At last, General Hospital spoilers have officially arranged a meeting between Cyrus and his creator. His end was anything but quiet and subtle, and it makes sense for the villain he was. Josslyn Jacks struck him down, and with that, we must say goodbye to the powerhouse actor behind Cyrus, Jeff Kober. Sure, you can hate or love him, but Kober owned every scene he was in. So, what does the actor think about his character’s endgame? Find out!
General Hospital Spoilers: Kober Teases Frank on Getting Axed
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the General Hospital looked back on his time as Cyrus. Guess what? His stint that extended to a whopping five years was supposed to last only for six months! “That’s four-and-a-half years of gravy,” Kober added, expressing nothing but gratitude for this crazy ride.
In fact, Jeff Kober decided to have a little fun with it. “I did want to torture [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini at least a little bit for letting me go,” he admitted. Don’t worry, it was all in good fun! Additionally, Kober didn’t sit around sulking after wrapping up his final scenes. Instead, he took off on a nearly month-long trip to India.
Our ‘digitalis killer’ wanted to clear his head after an epic and long murder spree. It was only after the trip that he started to process his goodbye. The regret? Jeff wanted to explore Cyrus’ perspective from an acting standpoint. Nevertheless, he has nothing but love for the role and the creative freedom he was given.
“I miss going to work, I miss the people, I miss the process. I love acting on a soap,” he confessed. We’ll miss you too, Mr. Antagonist. Speaking about Cyrus’ death, Kober is pretty darn proud of how things turned out for his character. The actor even called it “one of the best death scenes” he’s ever filmed.
Is This Really the End for Cyrus?
Let’s address the elephant in the room: Is Cyrus really gone? In soaps, death is nothing short of a sabbatical, and the dead come back all the time. Will Jeff’s Cyrus follow suit? GH stars Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton talked about this during their Daily Drama commentary.
Moreover, they emphasized how Jeff Kober is such a force on the show that his return seems almost inevitable. After all, this is Port Charles—resurrections are basically a tradition! So, let’s not don’t count the psycho murder out just yet. In the meantime, stay glued to Soap Opera Daily, your go-to stop for all the General Hospital spoilers.
