There’s no denying that General Hospital diva Rena Sofer has spent decades entertaining us with her iconic performances. But now, her eyes are on something different like a semi-retirement plan! What? Yep, the Emmy-winning actress plans to settle down in a dream home with a thriving creative studio. Plus, she wants to spend loads of time with her fur babies. But will she completely vanish from our screens? Let’s find out!
General Hospital: Rena Embarks On A New Chapter
The General Hospital actress began her acting career in the late ‘80s and has been unstoppable since. She first won hearts with roles in Another World and Loving before making history as GH’s Lois Cerullo in 1993. The role even landed her a Daytime Emmy in 1995. Then came the 2010s, where she dominated the space as Quinn Fuller on B&B.
The stint lasted from 2013 to 2022, but the legacy lives on, right? However, Rena’s talents go far beyond daytime dramas because she found her calling in primetime later on. Her portrayals in Melrose Place, The Chronicle, and Coupling proved her mettle as a versatile actor.
On the personal front, Sofer remarried her ex-husband, director Sanford Bookstaver, last year. “We’re still in the honeymoon phase,” she told Woman’s World. Now, the couple is already planning their next big adventure together. Their goal? They seek a peaceful East Coast retreat where they can truly settle down.
All About Rena’s Ultimate Forever Home
Mind you, Sofer is pretty specific about things in her life. “When we got divorced, I had no interest in dating,” she shared. So, she opened her life to a bunch of different things. But now, she wants to semi-retire with an ever-expanding bucket list. Additionally, her top goal is to build a home that she never has to leave.
In fact, Rena wants a massive art studio where she can work on her woodworking and ceramics. Plus, she wants a dedicated dog room to look after her furry munchkins. Thankfully, Sofer isn’t saying goodbye to acting for good and recently wrapped up Death on the Brandywine.
It’s an indie murder mystery where she stars alongside soap icons Walt Willey and Tuc Watkins. She says about her future projects, “I would be open to anything and everything.” Tune in to Soap Opera Daily for your daily dose of General Hospital celeb updates.
