General Hospital fans would love to see a romance that burns hot and dangerously! Well, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) relationship is exactly that. We sensed some sexual tension between them the moment Ric returned to Port Charles and made Ava his client. Guess what? They have sealed the deal with not one but two kisses recently. Interestingly, Rick has a lot to share about this intense pairing. Intrigued? Read the full scoop below!
General Hospital: Rick Dishes on Ric and Ava’s Pairing
What makes Ric and Ava’s connection so compelling? According to the General Hospital star, it’s all about how well they understand each other. “It’s a mutual kind of understanding of who they are. There’s no pretense between the two of them,” he explains. Moreover, Hearst highlights how both the characters led their lives independently.
His daughter, Molly, was all Ric had amid Alexis’s bitterness, while townies also shunned Ava. Another common factor? The duo has a terrible past of failed relationships and regretful mistakes. Now, they don’t actively seek partners, but Rick thinks “that familiarity can make strange bedfellows!”
Furthermore, the GH silver fox talked about his equation with Maura. As expected, he starts flexing about their swooning chemistry and mentions how West is always in the moment. “She very much weaves in and out of things. She is never reactionary,” Hearst explains. The X factor? “I don’t want to sound pretentious and say “magic,” but there is!” he adds.
The Duo Understands the Gray Zone
Interestingly, Ric’s flaws that ruined things between him and Elizabeth could excite Ava. Umm. Rick explains, “I think that they definitely understand each other’s moral ambiguity.” The character isn’t pretending to be someone he’s not, and Ava finds this honesty hot.
Mind you, the slow-burn romance between Ric and Ava grew while he represented her in court. And let’s not forget this woman has done some questionable things. Ava was involved in the deaths of Connie and Morgan, and the man knows every last detail. Hearst thinks it’s good to get those conversations out of the way early in a new relationship.
Meanwhile, GH spoilers reveal that Ava might try to see Avery or sabotage Sonny’s custody case, but Kristina intervenes. Later, she gets a tempting offer, possibly for a partnership with Jenz Sidwell. Ric is worried sick for her! Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more updates on General Hospital spoilers.
