Drama is seeping off-screen for General Hospital star Steve Burton. While he is dealing with a lot of on-screen drama, things aren’t too simple in his personal life either. As per the latest reports, Steve Burton is struggling with his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin. The two, who first got married in 1999, over the years, have had their fair share of issues, and there’s a new twist here now.
Drama Ensues Between Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin
After almost 22 years of marriage, Steve Burton and wife Sheree Gustin separated back in 2022. They officially gotdivorced in 2023 and have been living their separate lives. However, the latest reports by Touch Weekly suggests that Steve had to go back to the court in November of 2024 when he claimed that his ex-wife was violating their divorce agreement.
Back when the two had parted ways, their divorce settlement outlined that they would share joint legal, and physical custody of their three children. Steve was asked to pay $12500 for child support, and while Sheree had waved off her right to spousal support, Steve still paid her $50,000 every month.
However, there is now some relocation issue between the couple. As per Steve Burton, Sheree had reached out to him with a serious interest in relocating to Tennessee from California in the summer of 2023. Steve was on board with the idea.
So much so that he got his residence in Tennessee renovated, and terminated his lease in California. He in fact, also resigned from Days of Our Lives to make it easier for him to manage everything.
Sadly, after making all of these changes, he came to know that Sheree had changed her mind. Now, Steve has gone to thecourt with a complaint of Sheree violating their divorce agreement. The thing that he is most upset about is that Sheree has complicated everything too much for him.
New Claims Cause New Drama
As per Burton, Sheree has made it difficult for him to spend time with his daughter Brooklynn. The reports confirm that Sheree prevents her from traveling to Tennessee, which forces Burton to put in a lot of effort to come to see his daughter. On this, Steve says that he does come to California often for work, but he does not have a home there, which gets very difficult for him,
He now wants to figure out a visitation schedule so he can spend time with his daughter, too. However, Sheree has claimed that Steve’s claims are disingenuous because his job is in California. She also pointed out that Brooklyn does not “travel” much to Tennessee because of her school.
