A month after the news about General Hospital star Leslie Charleson’s passing away surfaced, we now know the real reason behind the actor’s passing. Leslie, best known for her character of Monica Quartermaine on General Hospital, passed away on January 12, 2025. She was 79 years old at the time of passing and GH producer Frank Valentini confirmed her demise.
Back then, we didn’t know the real reason for the demise, but now, more details about it have surfaced. The latest records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that the soap veteran passed away because of “sequelae of blunt head trauma.” This led to a traumatic brain injury, finally leading to her demise.
The case is still open, and the cops think that this death could be because of an accident. However, the presence of foul play seems a little far-fetched here. Over the years, Charleson has taken quite a few tumbles. And it is possible that her trauma is related to one of those falls.
Along with this, the Monica Quartermaine portrayer also dealt with other health issues, including- asthma, arthritis, and atrial fibrillation. She also had a condition called normal pressure hydrocephalus. Usually, which happens when cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the skull and puts pressure on the brain. While nobody really knows everything that the veteran actor was dealing with, this report from the police gives us some insight.
Ever since Leslie passed away, General Hospital fans have been waiting to know how the soap opera would pay tribute to Monica Quartermaine.
