Are you excited to see General Hospital stars popping up in other shows? If yes, brace yourselves because Beyond the Gates (BTG) is rolling out the red carpet for some daytime legends! The brand-new show has added legendary Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain. Jon stole hearts in both GH and its spin-off, Port Charles, while Cady rose to fame with All My Children. What does this mean for Jon’s Kevin on the ABC show?
General Hospital: Iconic Duo Joins the Party!
The General Hospital alum will play Joey Armstrong, a suave businessman with a casino empire. The character has a knack for keeping things under control, but he hates trouble. Soap’s logic: why not drown Joey in it? Meanwhile, McClain takes on the role of Pamela Curtis, an old friend of Dani Dupree and harborer of secrets.
The casting news broke during a press junket ahead of the much-anticipated premiere of CBS’ BTG on February 24. Show creator and head writer Michele Val Jean gushed, “I’ve been chomping at the bit to announce this!” His reaction to having Jon and Cady on board?
“Jon and Cady aren’t just soap royalty—they’re two of my favorite people on the planet.” Interestingly, Lindstrom dropped some scoop on Joey, revealing that he “comes from the other side of the tracks.” Nevertheless, he climbs the ranks without ever losing his signature charm.
But will it let him stay aloof from some serious trouble? McClain teased, “I’m thrilled to be part of this incredible new soap and work with such a talented cast.” However, she did warn us about the trouble looming over Pamela and Dani!
What’s Next for GH’s Kevin?
The exact air dates for Lindstrom and McClain’s debut episodes haven’t come out. Back to the show, Pamela won’t sit idle if Dani’s ex-husband, Bill Hamilton marries Hayley Lawson. After all, she’s the very woman who shattered their marriage. Ouch.
Furthermore, Lindstrom’s Joey will be there in episode thirteen, which was filmed in December. But what does this mean for General Hospital’s Kevin Collins? Well, Kevin’s not a regular in Port Charles these days, so maybe Jon Lindstrom can juggle both roles. Or the psycho Cyrus Renault is always up to no good.
Will he set his sights on Kevin next? Maybe or maybe not. In the meantime, keep checking Soap Opera Daily for your daily fix of General Hospital updates. What do you think about Kevin’s fate on the ABC drama?
