EastEnders fans- it’s official! We are all in for our New Year treat, Ross Kemp is finally returning to Walford after being for almost 35 years. The legendary character, who was last seen in 2016 for a short stint, will be coming back for the soap’s 40th anniversary celebration. A few months ago, we saw Ross driving out of the show’s production base in a black car. And it has now been confirmed that he is actually coming back and we are so excited.
Long-time viewers know that Ross’ character, Grant Mitchell, has a rich history in Walford. He is the brother of Phil Mitchell, and currently, the Walford hardman is in the midst of a loneliness storyline. And something tells us that Grant is coming back to help his brother with ongoing mental health struggles. We are sure this big comeback is going to stir up some old emotions as the brother- duo meets soon.
The BBC soap promised that Ross’ return as Grant will be ‘nothing short of explosive.’ The popular actor also shed light on the same. He said, ‘I’m delighted to be returning to EastEnders as the show heads towards its 40th anniversary.’ He also noted the soap opera means so much to him and returning to celebrate such a special milestone feels like an absolute honour.
