Helen Flanagan has addressed the question that Coronation Street fans keep asking her. Will she ever return to the Cobbles as Rosie Webster? The soap star recently shared an update during an exclusive interview while promoting her latest stage role. Her comments made one thing very clear. Only one simple factor is currently stopping her from stepping back into Weatherfield.

Helen Flanagan Says Only One Thing Is Stopping Her Coronation Street Return

Helen Flanagan first appeared on Coronation Street in 2000 when she began playing Rosie Webster. Over the years, the character became involved in several memorable storylines on the famous cobbles.

Rosie remained a key figure on the show until Helen left as a regular cast member in 2012. The character later returned briefly in 2017 for a short storyline. Since then, Rosie has not appeared in Weatherfield. However, the character was never written out permanently.

Unlike many soap favourites who leave through dramatic exits, Rosie was not killed off. This means the possibility of a comeback has always remained open. Helen recently revealed why fans have not yet seen Rosie return.

She explained that she would happily reprise the role if the opportunity came. According to her, the only thing stopping it right now is that the show’s bosses have not contacted her. She openly said she would love to come back if they asked.

Family Life Helps Helen Refocus On Her Acting Career

Helen shared these comments while speaking during her latest acting project. She is currently performing in the stage production ‘The Memory of Water‘ at the Liverpool Everyman theatre. The dark comedy focuses on three sisters who reunite after the death of their mother.

As they attempt to organise the funeral, old tensions and memories resurface. The play is currently running at the theatre on Hope Street until March 14.

This project is an important moment in Helen’s career. It is her theatre debut following appearances in pantomime productions last year. She has expressed excitement about taking on new challenges and expanding her acting work.

For fans of Coronation Street, her update delivers a clear message. A return to Weatherfield is still possible. Right now, only one thing stands in the way. The call from the show simply has not come yet. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
