The Crash That Changed Everything
The show ended last season with one of its biggest cliffhangers yet. A party train on the way to Broken Hill suddenly derailed, throwing passengers into chaos. Justin, Mackenzie, Remi, Abigail, Dana, Sonny, Lacey, Jo, and Eddie were all on board when the accident happened, and their fates remain unknown. The crash site is in terrible shape, with parts of the train at risk of collapsing. Smoke fills the tunnel, metal is twisted everywhere, and the rescuers face a race against time.
When the series returns at 7.00 pm on Monday, 19 January 2026 on Seven and 7plus, the rescue teams are already in full action. David, Cash, Levi, and Tane rush to the site, stepping straight into the chaos. With people they care about still trapped inside, the pressure on them becomes even heavier. Every second matters, and tension rises with each new obstacle.
A Split-Second Choice With Huge Consequences
As the rescue efforts continue, Tane reaches a point where he can’t stand back anymore. He decides he must act fast and ignores police orders, choosing to enter the tunnel himself so he can reach those who are still trapped. The deeper he moves inside, the more dangerous it becomes. The structure is unstable, and one wrong move could cause another collapse. His brave decision may save lives, but it could also put his own at serious risk.
Alongside this dramatic rescue, fans also get their first look at two returning favourites. Brax and Ricky are back for Home and Away’s big Western Australia event, created with Tourism Western Australia. Their return adds another emotional twist to an already intense storyline.
