Home and Away Actor Sentenced After Incident Inside NSW Jail
Serag Mohamed did part-time acting and appeared in films. Mohamed was taken into custody in November 2023. Mohamed repeatedly tried to kiss the woman at Long Bay Jail. He even touched her without consent. Not only that, but he also made an inappropriate comment. Even after the woman asked him, “Don’t”. However, Mohamed replied to her, “Let’s find out.” And he continued the physical contact. Moreover, he was in charge of the prison that night as the acting senior officer.
A second complaint involved another colleague who was referred to NSW Police by NSW Corrections. However, he wasnt charged in that matter. After the first incident happened, Mohamed was suspended with pay from his role as a first-class corrections officer.
Even last month, he sexually touched another person without consent. And he had received a two-year Community Correction Order. He had confirmed he had appealed both the conviction and the sentence. Elsewhere, the next court date is for January 29.
He was a part of several Hollywood projects. And after which he returned to Australia. Alongside TV roles, he also appeared on HAA. Then in 2015, his brother, Diaa, launched the Australian Muslim Party. Moreover, Mohabed was initially one of its directors.
Details About The Night Of The Incident
The police documents showed that the victim had received a troubling phone call from Mohamed. It was after three months that he began working at Long Bay. During the call, he asked some inappropriate questions.
He didn’t stop after that. He then said that he will need to look at her Facebook photo “to finish myself off.” The victim had heard him moaning on the line. She believed he was masturbating. And she immediately cut the call. Later, she avoided him for more than six months. However, unfortunately, both of them were placed on the same shift again.
And once during that night shift, Mohamed accused her of flirting. And the victim felt uncomfortable. However, she couldnt ask to leave. It’s because he was the officer in charge. And when Mohamed sexually assaulted her, she moved towards the dock area where cameras were located.
