After everything that happened with her dad showing up unexpectedly in Home and Away, you’d think Lacey might finally get a break. But next week, things are about to get even more intense. Someone else from her past arrives in Summer Bay, and this one is going to hurt even more.
That Awkward Reunion With David Was Just the Beginning
Last week, Lacey faced the huge shock of meeting her dad, David, who is now the new sergeant at Yabbie Creek. Cash didn’t even know they were related until David walked in and revealed it. Lacey was furious. She wanted nothing to do with him and made that clear. We also learned she changed her last name to her mum Kristina’s to keep David from finding her.
According to Lacey, when her mum died in that car crash two years ago, David forgave the driver like it was no big deal. She told Leah, “His love doesn’t mean anything. He proved that when Mum died.” Even though David tried to discuss things over coffee at Salt, Lacey wasn’t interested. She showed up just to tell him to leave her alone. Meanwhile, Leah had her doubts. Something about Lacey’s story didn’t add up.
Lacey’s Sister Jo Shows Up in Home and Away
As if things weren’t already complicated, David’s other daughter, Lacey’s sister, arrives next. Her name is Jo, and she makes a dramatic entrance with a broken-down car on the roadside. Tane stops to help her, but she isn’t exactly friendly. She burns her hand, snaps at him, and insists she can handle it, even though her phone’s dead. Classic soap energy.
Later that day, Jo and David visit the Diner and run into Leah. When David introduces Jo as his daughter, Leah is surprised. She had no idea Lacey even had a sister. Jo is curious about how Leah knows Lacey but dismisses the idea of visiting her, claiming Lacey would likely be hostile. Fair enough. Upstairs, Leah checks in with Lacey and casually mentions seeing her dad and sister downstairs. Lacey instantly tenses up.
The next morning, Jo heads back to her car with a new fan belt, only to find Tane already fixing it. Next, David intervenes to defend Jo, accuses Tane of interfering, and tells him he’ll be watching him. Once Tane drives off, David admits he did a good job, though. Later, Jo finally finds Lacey at the surf club and tries to talk, but it escalates quickly.
Lacey shuts her down right away, saying Jo should feel guilty for what happened to their mum. Jo replies that Lacey doesn’t understand what it’s like to live with those memories, and Lacey snaps back, “Good! You should suffer!” Then, Jo tries to grab Lacey, and Lacey punches her. A full-blown fight breaks out. Cash arrives just in time to break it up and ends up arresting both, totally unaware they are sisters.
Family Secrets, Guilt, and a Search for the Truth in Home and Away
Back at the station, things get even more tense. Cash tells David that he was just following the rules. But David isn’t happy. “So you’re saying it’s my fault you arrested BOTH my daughters?” he responds angrily. Once things settle, David tries to get Jo and Lacey to talk things over, but neither wants to give in.
Later, Cash drives Lacey back to the Bay and tries to comfort her by sharing his experience of losing his own mum to cancer. But Lacey insists it’s different; cancer doesn’t have someone to blame. She confesses she never believed the story about her mum’s accident. She thinks something is wrong. Even worse, she suspects David might have covered things up. “I just want the truth,” she says. “I just want a reason for why my mum died.”
Back at the station, Jo is alone in David’s office, and the memories flood back, waking up after the crash, seeing the blood, and finding their mum unresponsive. She is clearly haunted by it all. So now the big question is, was Jo really the one behind the wheel when Kristina died? And if so, how much is David hiding? Soap drama doesn’t get more emotional than this.
