An old face returns to Summer Bay to play a cooper at Yabbie Creek station! Home and Away Comings and Goings welcome Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, who last appeared on the Aussie soap in 2016 as a rotten policeman, Dylan Carter. But here’s the catch: Taylor wears the badge again, but he’s role-playing as a completely different guy. Curious? Dive in to get the full scoop!
Home and Away Comings and Goings: H&A Welcomes Sergeant David Langham
Home and Away Comings and Goings introduces Jeremy as Sergeant David Langham, the new lawman with a complicated past and some family baggage. The actor will join the cast as a regular starting on May 28. As for Langham’s family, he is Lacey Miller’s dad, but they are not close.
The sergeant has another daughter, Jo, who will debut on the show shortly to add more depth to this family drama. Meanwhile, Jeremy teases, “The three of them are dealing with trauma and trying to reconnect, but it’s not going well.” So, if you thought this reunion would melt your heart, think again!
Furthermore, starting at Yabbie Creek won’t be easy for David. Why is that? The character needs to deal with someone like Cash Newman, who has a shady past. For Taylor, keeping this role a secret for nearly six months has been a “whirlwind.” Now that his episodes are finally airing, he’s happy to share little spoilers.
How Does Jeremy Feel About His Return?
And let us tell you that Jeremy knows his way around a badge. The H&A alum has played a copper at least five or six times over two decades. Most recently, he nailed his part in The Claremont Murders, but the new role gives him butterflies! “(Langham) is my favorite. He’s very by-the-book — they need that in Summer Bay,“ says Taylor.
In addition, he revealed how his mum is just as excited, ordering him to get to the Bay. She would text things like, “They need you! It’s a hornet’s nest of crime.“ Oh, how we all love a dramatic mother! Beyond acting, Taylor enjoys directing and is working on two feature films- a mini-series and a short film.
Still, returning to Summer Bay was his epiphany moment. “It’s an important show. It’s about family, real life — I’m loving it,“ he said. Jeremy added, “It’s such a great, young cast, and the older cast is full of legends.“ He first scene with Irene, Alf and Leah left him happy and big time star-struck.
