A blast from the Home and Away past has just gone viral, and it screams, “SCANDAL!” The spotlight is back on ex-H&A star Melissa George, who played Angel Brooks in the mid-90s, but why? Her old clip, in which she’s squaring off with co-star Isla, is resurfacing on Instagram, Fisher on-screen. It just reminds everyone of how dramatic those days used to be. Check it out below!
Home and Away: Melissa’s Old H&A Video Gets Viral
The Home and Away star arrived in the Bay in 1993, opposite the late Dieter Brummer’s Shane Parrish. While the show definitely launched her career, the actress has almost no gratitude in her heart. In fact, George refused to speak about her time on the show.
However, the internet’s love for digging up old drama brings up a controversial clip! The scene features Melissa and the Wedding Crashers fame Isla Fisher, who played Shannon on the show. Both the stars can be seen locking horns, and fans are loving it.
They jumped into the comments section with some of the most sarcastic and savage remarks. “Should tag Melissa George in this. I’m sure she would really love that,” one fan wrote. Meanwhile, another user called out Melissa’s “pathetic acting“ on the soap. “No wonder she doesn’t like reminders of her time on H&A,“ they added.
The internet turned into a meme-making machine, but that can’t overshadow Melissa’s stellar career post-Australian show. Her three-years long stint in the Bay ended in 1997 before she left for Hollywood and boy, did she deliver!
All About George’s Hollywood Journey
Melissa carved out a solid film career from acting in Mulholland Drive to sharing the screen with Ryan Reynolds in The Amityville Horror. Furthermore, George’s critically acclaimed role in HBO’s In Treatment earned her a sparkly Golden Globe nomination.
However, Melissa isn’t proud of her roots and even bashed journalist Christine Sams in 2012 when he asked about H&A. “I don’t need credibility from my country anymore, I just need them all to be quiet,“ she said. The diva insisted she’d rather have espresso and a croissant in Paris than speak with her countrymen.
Interestingly, the same journalist publicly defended the artist in 2017. It was when George went through domestic violence and a child custody battle in France.
