Two Home and Away favorites have just appeared somewhere completely unexpected, and no, we’re not talking about a surprise return to Summer Bay. If you’re a fan of horror movies and enjoy spotting familiar faces, you’re in for a treat.
From Home and Away to Big-Screen Screams
We’ve seen a number of characters leave Home and Away recently, and two that stood out were Luke Van Os and Joshua Orpin. Luke, who played Xander Delaney, finished his time on the show around mid-2024. Joshua had a brief guest role as Rory Templeton and departed the Bay in August of last year. Fans were already curious about where these two would turn up next. The answer came quickly, and it’s something no one expected.
Both actors have secured roles in one of this year’s most talked-about horror movie reboots, I Know What You Did Last Summer. The film is a big deal, bringing back stars from the original 1997 version, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Freddie Prinze Jr. Alongside that nostalgic trio are some new faces, including Luke and Joshua.
Wait, Is That Who I Think It Is?
One fan spotted them and shared the news in a Home and Away Facebook group, and it didn’t take long for it to spread. Luke Van Os has a smaller role as Officer Johnson. He appears in a few scenes, and if you blink, you might miss him; but it’s definitely him. Joshua, however, has much more screen time. He plays Wyatt, a charming fiancé with a drinking problem.
If you’ve seen the trailer, you know Wyatt doesn’t make it out alive. (Yes, spoiler alert, but it’s in the trailer.) Joshua recently posted a behind-the-scenes photo of himself covered in fake blood and special effects makeup and joked about his on-screen death. He said, “Last Summer, I filmed a movie. This Summer, that movie is out and we say goodbye to our sweet boy Wyatt. Taken too soon. Gone, but not forgotten.”
Let’s hope we see more of our Home and Away stars making it in Hollywood. Fans are already wishing for actors like Juliet Godwin and Matt Evans to get their big break next.
