We can’t hold back tears after hearing about the loss of one of Home and Away ‘s cutest legends. The Summer Baby folks are mourning the passing of their adorable four-legged cast member, Buddy. Home and Away: H&A Bids a Furry Farewell
Home and Away recently lost its furry friend who first arrived in the Bay in 2016. The sad news of Buddy’s death came out on May 25 after his owner, Shelley, paid tribute on Instagram. She shared a sweet photo, describing how much Buddy meant to her. Moroever, the owner also reminisced about their fun memories and his appearance on the Aussie soap.
She wrote, “I have lost my Buddy. We did so many fun things together over the years.” Shelley admitted that her dog’s time on H&A was the highlight of their lives. She added, “He loved going more than anything.” It turns out that the lady planned to take Buddy to the beach one last time, but he didn’t make it. “He left peacefully at home in his bed while I held him,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Buddy, the bobtail boxer, wasn’t just any ordinary pup. The doggo was an adventurous being with a face made for close-ups. Upon arrival in the Bay, he joined the Morgan family and instantly stole scenes and hearts! Viewers often spotted him tagging along with his siblings, Justin, Brody, Mason, or Tori Morgan.
Cast Devastated Over Pet Buddy’s Passing
Naturally, Shelley’s post moved everyone from fans to castmates in tears, and they sounded super emotional in the comments. The official H&A Instagram wrote, “Oh no. We are so sorry for your loss. He was our favorite cast member.” Additionally, other castmates shared love and condolences for Buddy’s passing, including Penny McNamee, aka Tori Morgan.
She wrote, “Beautiful Buddy, such a huge part of our Morgan Family. Thank you for sharing him with us, Shelley.” Next, Stewart (Justin Morgan) gave a sweet shoutout to his “incredible” furry partner, “You were my sidekick in so many scenes.” He praised the doggo for remembering the lines and cues.
“You could sniff out chicken wherever it was! I love ya, mate. R.I.P. beautiful Buddy,” he concluded. Furthermore, Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) expressed grief on Buddy’s death and called him “beautiful.” Lastly, Sophie Dillman (Ziggy) commented, “Sending you so much love. The goodest boy ever.”
