Home and Away star Nicholas Cartwright is dealing with real-life drama that has turned nasty. How? Yep, some people are trying to impersonate him to scam people, prompting Nicholas to clean up the mess. Recently, he took a moment on Instagram to address the shady internet catfishing. Read on to know what the H&A star has to say!
Home and Away: Nicholas Sets the Record Straight
The Home and Away star began with, “Hello, Nick here. I don’t normally like to make these sorts of announcement things.” Then, he jumped to the main point and revealed he’s been receiving a flood of messages from women about the scam. It turns out that fake Facebook accounts have been targeting them using his photos.
Cartwright added, “I’ve been getting messages about it, but I’ve been hoping it would just go away.” However, the matter has worsened as it has now gone beyond DMs and reached his managers and family. Next, Nicholas made it clear that he uses only a verified Instagram account and is “hardly” online.
Furthermore, the H&A actor apologized to people who fell for the social media scam. He said, “Not that it’s my fault, but I hope you’re okay.” Cartwright also clarified that he’s not contacting anyone or asking for money. The crazy part? Some scammers were also sending wedding proposals on his behalf in New Zealand. So, he had to put an end to it.
Cash Goes After the River Boys
Meanwhile, things are equally wild for Nicholas’ character on the Aussie soap. In the upcoming episode, he’s going full after Justin tips off about the leader of the criminal syndicate, River Boys. The copper sniffs around Theo because he feels that something is clearly off.
It’s due to the guy’s extremely casual attitude when Cash confronts attempts to get some answers. Cash trusts his intuitions and installs a secret tracker on the River Boys’ car. And let’s not forget that he recently came across reports of a surge in illegal underground racing.
Will he connect the dots and uncover what the dangerous gang is up to? We’re undoubtedly in for a heck of a week. So don’t forget to tune in!
