Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger is ditching the Diner for something way more intense. The Irene Roberts actress just announced she’s joined a new show called SHARK! on Channel 9. It’s a massive shift from Summer Bay, as she’s actually getting into the water to swim with sharks for the cameras. Keep scrolling to learn more.

   

Lynne’s New Adventure Beyond The Beach

The actress shared a first look at the project. And Lynnew looks all ready for the challenge. She also told her followers that she would’ve laughed if someone told her she’d be doing this. But now she’s officially diving in. In one of the snaps that she posted on her Instagram, she poses by a surfboard in a colourful beach dress. Moreover, Lynne looks very different from her usual soap style. 

Also, viewers are already excited to see how she will handle the sharks. Several of them even commented to show their excitement. One user wrote, “I can’t wait for the world to see this!” Another wrote, “Love it, Scuba Steve.” 

Also, many users mentioned that they miss this legend on Home and Away. With one user saying, “Oh, I miss you so much. The Bay isnt the same, you’re one in a million.” Another said, “It would be so amazing if Lynne could come back to the show. That would be so amazing.”

Irene Roberts Final Journey On Home and Away

Lynne had a great run portraying the character of Irene for over three decades. But she chose to leave Summer Bay after she was given a terminal health diagnosis. The bright and feisty character suffered a dreadful deterioration. Irene started having memory problems.

She even forgot about the time when she was taking care of little Archie and eventually, she missed the dinner dates with John Palmer as well. Soon, with John’s support, she consulted Dr Bree Cameron, who confirmed Alzheimer’s disease.

HAA/Lynne played Irene Roberts on the show for 33 years.

However, Irene wanted to live her life on her own terms in her final days. And she didn’t want to stay and deteriorate in the Bat. That’s when she sold her house and signed over her half of the Pier Diner to her best friend, Leah Patterson.
