Kate Ritchie Clears The Air Regarding Home and Away
Amidst the on-screen chaos, Kate Ritchie made headlines of her own after addressing rumours of a long-awaited comeback. Speaking on Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, the actress revealed she has no immediate plans to return as Sally Fletcher, the role she played for more than two decades. She explained that Home and Away continues to thrive without Sally, adding that the show has “moved on” and that her character is “living a nice life somewhere.”

Even so, she remained gracious about the possibility, acknowledging that she had once been approached by producers about returning. Though she turned down the offer, she hinted that if the timing and story were right. She said she’d be open to revisiting Sally’s world again someday. Kate also shared a personal reflection about her emotional connection to the show. She recalled trying to watch an episode about five years ago.
But said she “couldn’t bear seeing other people living in my house and sitting on my couch for a while.” The moment reminded her of just how deeply intertwined her life had been with Summer Bay for over 20 years.
