Just when Cash thinks life might finally be settling down after the chaos with the River Boys in Home and Away, a new face shows up at Yabbie Creek police station, and makes it clear he’s not here to play nice. Meanwhile, Lacey begins to let her guard down around Theo, unaware that her past is about to catch up with her in a way she never expected.
Trouble Begins With the New Sarge
It’s been a while since we’ve had a real boss at the station. After Sergeant McCarthy left in 2020, we’ve only had occasional replacements. That changes now with the arrival of Sergeant David Langham, and he’s not here to make friends.
Cash walks into the station early, thinking he’s ahead of schedule. But Langham is already sizing him up and calls him out for being late. Cash pushes back, saying he’s twenty minutes early, but it doesn’t matter. Langham sends him to the interview room and then follows with a file, Cash’s personnel record.
He flips through it, pointing out past mistakes and poor judgment calls from Cash’s time on the force. Cash stays calm, explaining himself when necessary, but it’s clear Langham isn’t impressed. He’s particularly concerned about Cash’s recent interactions with the River Boys and how Tane was allowed to help during the arrest.
Then things get more personal. Langham notices one name in the case file, Lacey Miller. Without giving a reason, he demands that Cash bring her in again for questioning. Cash seems confused since the case is already closed, but the new boss won’t listen to any arguments.
Home and Away Reveals Real Reason Behind Langham’s Interest
Back in the Bay, Lacey and Theo are finally improving their relationship. After all the drama with Leah, they’re building something more stable. Leah even invites them over for dinner. Although things start off tense, she eventually apologizes to Lacey.
The next day, Leah offers Lacey a casual job at the Diner. Lacey kindly declines but is clearly affected by the offer. She later talks to Theo, saying Leah’s kindness reminded her of her mom, who died in an accident two years ago. It’s a moment of real vulnerability, and Theo comforts her the best he can, even though he’s still healing from his own injuries.
Then Cash shows up and asks Lacey to accompany him to the station, just to tie up loose ends, he claims. However, when they arrive, Lacey senses something is off. She turns around and sees Sergeant Langham watching her from the doorway. His expression is softer now, but her instincts kick in.
Langham reveals the truth, he’s her father. Lacey is stunned. She immediately accuses him of transferring just to find her, but he insists it was all a coincidence. He claims he didn’t even know it was really her until he saw her name in the case file. She’s using her late mom’s maiden name now, which confused him. Lacey doesn’t want to hear it. When he tries to question her further about the River Boys, she shuts it down and storms out.
Lacey Shuts Down, Mali Feels Left Behind
Back home, Lacey starts packing a bag, clearly rattled by everything. Whether she’s planning to leave Summer Bay is uncertain, but she’s shaken to her core. Meanwhile, Abby is enjoying her birthday celebrations.
She makes a big deal out of it at Salt, much to everyone’s amusement. She even surprises Mali at the Surf Club, not realizing he’s been working hard on a special gift for her, a hand-painted portrait he has been hiding under a cloth.
Upstairs at Salt, Mac prepares a breakfast spread while Levi shares stories about Abby’s birth. The baby talk hits a sore spot for Mac, who is still waiting on her fertility test results. She steps out for some air, and Levi follows, trying to comfort her. They are soon interrupted by Abby again, who wants to know when Eden is arriving. Levi quietly panics, he forgot to invite her.
When Eden finally arrives, she asks Levi if she can split the cost of Abby’s gift, not knowing what it is. It turns out Abby receives a brand-new car. She’s thrilled, and Eden is speechless. Unfortunately, Mali is left wondering how his heartfelt portrait can possibly compete with a car. For more of the latest from Home and Away, keep it right here on Soap Opera Daily.
