Home and Away spoilers confirm that Eliza Sherwood is officially giving everybody the chills. The troubled teen was brought to Summer Bay Roo Stewart at the beginning of this year.
The character, played by Georgie Parker, continues to play the patient and understanding foster mother. However, Eliza’s disturbing behavior makes Bay residents and viewers scream, “What the hell?” Read on to learn what Parker thinks about the whole situation!
Home and Away spoilers: Eliza Hesitates to Help Alf
Home and Away spoilers recall that Roo welcomed Eliza into her home after the girl’s last foster home burned down. However, it seems like the innocence is gone or may never have existed. Eliza’s bizarre fascination with weapons, death, and even Harper Matheson’s baby can be anything but normal.
Now, she’s back at it again! In the upcoming scenes airing on Australian screens, Alf suddenly suffers from chest pains. The poor man asks Eliza to fetch his medicine. However, she walks around casually with no sense of urgency at all and does what she’s good at: lying!
Yep, the teen lies to his face, saying she “looked everywhere” but couldn’t find the medicine. But in reality, the pills were in her pocket the whole time. Speaking to TV Week, Georgie dished on the intense and emotional storyline. According to her, Roo has been a supportive and emotionally present carer who is trying to do everything for Eliza.
Parker Doesn’t Want to Paint Eliza As A Villian
However, “Eliza has a lot of deep issues, and it’s a complicated issue for a complicated young woman,” she added. Parker’s character knows that something is off about Eliza. But the actress had to approach the plotline with the sensitivity of a foster gaurdian. Furthermore, Georgie noted, “We don’t know how much she has been exposed to or seen.”
She explained that there could be some serious trauma behind Eliza’s actions. “[People with trauma] do come out with strange coping mechanisms and ideas about things,” she added. Despite all the red flags, Roo is hopeful and gives her daughter the benefit of the doubt. The logic is simple: “She doesn’t know where she’s come from.”
Still, Parker doesn’t sugar-coat the danger surrounding Eliza and admits that being around the girl could be risky. However, the actress doesn’t want to “demonize” her because she feels responsible for dealing with this kind of foster care storyline.
“But it’s clear Eliza has learned to disengage from trauma but is fascinated by it,” she concluded. Don’t forget to check out Soap Opera Daily for more Home and Away spoilers scoops. What’s really going on inside Eliza’s head? Drop your thoughts below.
