A much loved face from Home and Away television surprised onlookers this week when she stepped onto a Sydney set looking completely different from the character viewers have known for decades. The two time Gold Logie winner was spotted filming a brand new series in Clovelly and many would have struggled to recognise her at first glance.
Home and Away Star Looks Unrecognisable While Filming New Series In Clovelly
Georgie Parker, best known as Roo Stewart on Home and Away, was seen shooting scenes for her upcoming mini series Dalliance by the ocean on Thursday. Away from the polished look audiences associate with her, the 61 year old appeared strikingly natural and almost unrecognisable during filming breaks. She wore an aqua jacket zipped over what appeared to be a black bathing suit, with her long brunette hair loose and no visible makeup.

Walking barefoot across the set, Parker chatted casually with crew members while holding swimming goggles as boom microphones hovered overhead. At one point she even stepped into the water between takes, fully immersed in the seaside setting and looking completely at ease. The relaxed appearance contrasted sharply with her familiar on screen image and made the veteran star difficult to spot for passers by.
Georgie Parker’s Health Update After Hip Replacement And Scoliosis Battle
In June 2024, Parker shared hospital photos and images of herself on crutches, revealing she was three weeks into rehabilitation after the procedure. She joked that she went from finishing a play straight into another theatre for a new hip, and she thanked the same surgeon and team who treated her previously. She admitted she disliked the medication but embraced the recovery process, explaining recovery was going well thanks to support from family, friends and colleagues.

The condition requires constant management. She once said the pain and stiffness affect her daily life and she has to stay fit to keep her back functional. She added she never resented having scoliosis and sees it as a reminder she can still live life largely as she wants. Now back on set in Clovelly, the transformation is clear. Minimal styling, practical wardrobe and an outdoor filming environment reveal a far more natural side of the award winning performer.
After years on Australian screens in polished roles, the candid beachside sighting shows a different version of the star and confirms she is stepping into a fresh project and phase of her career. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Home and Away spoilers.
