Home and Away spoilers just brought serious drama for the Bay’s golden couple, Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson! The characters returned two years after leaving the town for a fresh start in Queensland with their baby girl, Izzy. But it didn’t remain a casual nostalgia-driven storyline as Ziggy and Mac became part of an intense criminal twist. Home and Away spoilers: Sophie Discusses Life in Queensland
Home and Away spoilers recall that Mackenzie Booth and Levi Fowler visit Ziggy and Dean in Queensland. But this sweet reunion goes sideways when two escaped crooks kidnap the women. According to Sophie, life in Queensland has been relaxing for the couple.
“Summer Bay is the most dangerous place to live in the world!” she jokes. Additionally, the duo wanted a quieter life, especially after becoming parents. She adds, “The reason that they moved to Queensland was to follow Dean’s son Jai and have their own family.” However, Ziggy is dragged right back into the madness, and Dillman can feel it in her bones.
The actress notes that her character has gone through a similar situation before, but that doesn’t make it less terrifying. “Queensland is their sanctuary – they’ve built a home that feels safe,” she shares.
Dean Brings Back His River Boy Energy!
Additionally, Sophie explains what Ziggy feels during the car ride, calling it “incredibly scary.”After all, her sister-in-law is also there with her, and they’re not sure if their partners will locate them. “I can’t imagine what that would feel like,” Sophie admits.
But how does Dean react when he finds out that the captor is planning to kill the ladies? Patrick replies, “From the outset, he’s just in straight panic. With Ziggy pregnant again, he’s in full dad mode.” However, the actor thinks it’s a “cool” storyline that explores the dynamics between his character and Levi.
Interestingly, Dean’s body language while saving his family gives River Boy energy, and O’Connor doesn’t deny it! “Definitely – it wouldn’t be Dean and Ziggy coming back if there wasn’t a River Boys flair there somewhere!“ he said. While our favorite couple’s comeback ended too soon, it’s definitely one for the books. What say?
