Lacey Miller’s search for justice takes a tense turn in Home and Away next week, and even though it begins as a mission quickly, it spirals into a situation far more dangerous than anyone expected. As she pushes harder for answers about her mother’s death, her choices place both herself and someone close to her in serious jeopardy.
Lacey Refuses to Back Down
Lacey has spent the week uncovering unsettling hints that Councillor Craig Wendell may have played a part in her mother’s death, and she’s been relentless in trying to expose him. Despite her police officer father David Langham stressing that every lead has hit a dead end, both Lacey and her sister Jo remain firm in their belief that Wendell knows more than he lets on. Their suspicions only deepen when they revisit their mother’s commemorative book and spot Wendell’s signature inside.
David insists that the evidence doesn’t point to Wendell, yet the sisters refuse to let the matter rest. He eventually admits that he has been instructed to stop investigating Wendell altogether and presses Lacey to admit that she not only sneaked into the councillor’s office but also phoned him to threaten him. David reacts furiously, urging Lacey and Jo to step back and let him handle things properly. But Lacey, still determined, decides to take matters into her own hands once again.
The Risky Plan Is Set in Motion in Home and Away
Ignoring David’s warnings, Lacey calls Wendell again and claims she has found a witness. Jo’s recent hypnotherapy session revealed a hazy memory of a man in a suit; nothing solid, but enough for Lacey to use as leverage. She tells Wendell they need to meet in just a few hours. Before heading to the meeting point, she goes to Cash Newman and Eden Fowler’s wedding, where she pulls Theo Poulos aside and ropes him into her plan. Theo thinks it’s reckless, but he reluctantly agrees to go with her.
At the rendezvous spot, Lacey tells Theo she plans to pretend to be the witness herself. Theo feels nervous about the idea, but she brushes off her fear and picks up a bouquet, saying she never feels anxious when he’s with her. She adds that if he asked her a major life-changing question in that moment, she would say yes without hesitation. Moments later, Wendell finally arrives. When Wendell steps out of his car, Lacey confronts him with her fabricated evidence and demands that he go to the police and confess.
She insists she won’t back down. Wendell becomes emotional and agrees to her terms, giving Lacey and Jo a moment of hope that they might finally uncover the truth about their mother’s death. But as soon as Wendell returns to his vehicle, instead of driving away, he suddenly accelerates straight toward Lacey.
