Olivia Frances Brown is already making people notice her as Jodie Ramsey on Coronation Street, but getting this role was not easy. One missed chance, a long gap, and then the same show calling her back again changed everything. Now that Jodie has entered the story, Olivia’s journey shows how timing and patience finally worked in her favour.
The Chance She Thought Was Gone Came Back
Olivia Frances Brown had already tried for Coronation Street three years ago. She auditioned for another role, but it did not work out. At that time, it felt like just another rejection, even though she was told she would be kept in mind.
Then things took an unexpected turn. Nearly three years later, she got another call, this time for Jodie Ramsey. Reading about the character made things click instantly.

Jodie felt interesting, layered, and different. Olivia even said she felt it would be fun to play because there was so much to explore. This time, she walked away with the role.
That entry became even more special because it happened during a crossover with Emmerdale. The moment felt right to her, and she described it as a brilliant way to step into the show.
Stepping In Coronation Street Took Time to Sink In
Once she reached the set, everything started to feel real. The feeling was of excitement and disbelief because her family had watched the show for years. First came the excitement, then a moment of “is this actually happening,” and finally the realisation that she was now part of it.

At the same time, her mum’s reaction was very special. She was extremely excited and proud, but she did not hold back either. Olivia shared that her mum still keeps her grounded and tells her honestly how to act.
After that, settling in became easier than expected. The show has been running for years, and many actors already know each other well. Even then, the cast made her feel welcome straight away.
Brown Has Been Open To Learning and Adapting
Working on a daily soap brought a new kind of pressure. The pace is fast, and there is no time to sit and overthink every scene. Because of that, she started trusting her instincts more. That change made her performances feel more natural and less forced.

Earlier in her career, nerves used to be a big problem. Stage fright made things difficult at times. Over time, she learned how to handle it better. Music also played a big part in building that confidence. She has been writing songs since childhood, inspired by her parents’ love for Motown. She used to fill notebooks with songs and perform them, even when they were not perfect.
That helped her grow comfortable in front of people. In February 2025, she released her first single, “Shade of Red.” She said the song came together very quickly, almost in a day, during a difficult time in her life. Seems like our Jodie isn’t so bad after all. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
