Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage game still stands strong, as they recently celebrated their seventh anniversary. The Duchess didn’t let the day pass quietly and took to IG on May 19 to share a mood board. The post sparked nostalgia as it featured old pics of the Sussexes, baby Archie and Lilibet, and more. But the royal experts accused Markle of sending out a message with her overly “Californian” post. How so?
Meghan Markle: Royal Experts Slam Meg’s Mood Board
Meghan Markle broke the internet with a sweet collage of memories with her “fox” of a husband. But not everyone took it just as a lovey-dovey post, and some even questioned its purpose. Royal commentator Matt Wilkinson told The Sun, “I’ve never heard of someone doing a mood board for a wedding anniversary.”
Moreover, Wilkinson threw a little shade by saying Meghan is “just so Californian in everything she does.” No, he didn’t mean to be critical of the American actress, but he couldn’t shake off the nature of the post. For Matt, it was something that “you can look, but you can’t touch.” Then, he highlighted the barely visible pictures of their kids.
He described it as “These are my children, but they’re tiny, tiny pictures, so you can’t see them.” Wilkinson thinks this post attempts to show everyone how happy Meg and Harry are in their marriage. Guess what? Matt called the Duchess’ mood board “narcissistic” and questioned the need for such PDA.
“If they were as happy as she makes out, she wouldn’t need to tell anyone,” he added. Meanwhile, another palace expert, Hugo Vickers, shared similar thoughts. He thinks Meg wants to flex that all is well and that they’re one happy, united family. The real question is: Are people validating Markle’s actions?
Is Meghan Faking Her Married Life?
Meanwhile, the post was full of rare and romantic moments, including Harry’s wife cradling her bump and a sonogram of baby Archie, among others. In one of the snaps, the little prince kisses Lilibet near a fireplace. Can it get cuter than this? We doubt it. Markle wrote, “Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories.”
Additionally, she thanked the fans for all the love and support over the years. Interestingly, this love bombing came weeks after the Sussexes tried shutting down divorce rumors. Remember Meghan praising Harry like anything on Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast?
She even declared that this stage of their life is like a “honeymoon period.” Haters gonna hate, but when has it ever stopped our Duchess from making headlines? Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for latest news on Meghan Markle and other royals. Did the anniversary post mean to imply something else?
