The Corriedale episode was out last week. The episode was a major surprise for the residents of both soaps. The lives of both residents won’t be the same now. The special episode aired with Aaron and John’s car collision with Corrie’s vehicle. This led to a multi-vehicle pile-up where many characters were injured. Furthermore, Coronation Street’s character, Billy Mayhew, died due to the explosion of the vehicle.
In the case of Emmerdale, John shot Cain, who later learned about his life-threatening disease. Meanwhile, Victoria killed John. Joe recorded it and started blackmailing Robert. Furthermore, Graham’s return surprised the soap fans. His story will be out soon. His connection to the rival soap’s new arrival, Jodie, will also be out.
ITV Vanishes Emmerdale And Coronation Street Tonight!
Elsewhere, the changes to ITV’s soap scheduling saw both shows move to a consistent half-hour slot at the same time every weekday, with Emmerdale moving to 8 p.m. while Corrie to 8:30 p.m. However, neither of the soaps was aired tonight.
The Carabao Cup semi-final between Newcastle United and Manchester City was aired from 7:30 p.m. to 10:25 p.m. But the soaps will be back at their usual times tomorrow.
Meanwhile, ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo, said that the new commissioning pattern is viewer-led. They have already given more choices to viewers on how they watch the soap through ITVX. Kevin added that the viewing habits continue to change, so they keep up to date with the shows.
Furthermore, Chris Bisson, who plays Jai Sharma, also spoke about the schedule change. He said that the fans had been waiting for the two shows to collide. They won’t have to worry about shifting the timings. The episodes will be out from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week.
