Kimmel congratulated the NFL player for signing a two-year extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the comedian also made fun of Travis in the midst of dating the iconic singer Taylor Swift.
He weighed that despite Travis Kelce becoming the highest-paying tight-end player, he is still Taylor Swift’s broke boyfriend. Kelce signed a $34.25 million contract with the Chiefs. With $17 million fully guaranteed for this season, he will receive the remaining amount on the third day of the 2025 league.
Shortly after the Chiefs signed Travis Kelce, general manager Brett Veach said that they couldn’t define in words what Travis meant for them. Brett added, “He (Travis Kelce) was certainly a priority to adjust his contract for us.” He also claimed that after signing the contract, Travis has now become the highest-paid tight-end player.
Travis then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his gratitude. He said, “It’s an honor and a pleasure, and I can’t wait to get after it these next two years.” Despite receiving such fame and name from his incredible performance, Travis Kelce hasn’t yet impressed Jimmy Kimmel.
The host still calls Taylor Swift’s boyfriend broke despite earning a lot. This is because Taylor Swift’s net worth, as per Forbes, is around $1.1 billion. So, indeed, Travis’ earnings aren’t that huge in front of the pop star. And that’s why Jimmy mocked Travis, saying that his contract amounted to “gum money” for Taylor Swift.
Not only did Jimmy Kimmel compare the couple’s wealth, but the late-night show host also called him a ‘baby boy.’ Well, it wasn’t Kimmel’s words; he actually showed a screenshot of the couple’s selfie video shared on X.
The photo looked admirable. However, Kimmel pointed out the comment section where the Swifties called Travis Kelce “pookiest pookie.” Another said, “He’s so baby girl.” This caught Jimmy’s eye, as the host said he has no idea whether Kelce is a football player or a kitten, considering the fans’ reaction to him being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
