All eyes are on Justin Bieber as the Canadian pop star arrived in Mumbai, India, on Thursday, July 4, to perform in Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s sangeet ceremony. It marked his first appearance in India after 2017. While the Love Yourself singer was expected to return in 2020 for his Justice World Tour, the concert was canceled due to the singer’s bad health.
However, he is all set to return to his track, starting with Ambanis’ wedding ceremony. Justin arrived with his great entourage in Mumbai a day before the sangeet ceremony. He sported his signature style—a pink oversized sweatshirt, baggy blue pants, and a red bucket hat. While fans and paparazzi waited for his arrival, he refused to acknowledge them.
According to reports, Justin Bieber was set to perform some of his highly popular tracks, such as Baby, Sorry, and Love Yourself, on Friday, July 5. While his celebrity fans waited for the day, a Portuguese news outlet suggested the singer charged his highest-ever remuneration for his one-night show in Ambani’s pre-wedding ceremony.
According to the reports, Justin charged a whopping Rs. 83 crore, which roughly translates to $10 million. The singer was reportedly paid more than Katy Perry and Rihanna to perform at the Ambani private function. Rihanna, who performed at the first pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, charged Rs. 64 to 74 crores ($8 – $9 million).
Meanwhile, Katy Perry, who performed on the second pre-wedding ceremony on a cruise, charged Rs. 40 to 45 crores ($4 – $5 million). This has made Justin Bieber the highest-paid Hollywood celebrity to perform in the Ambanis wedding festivities. However, the Stay singer’s fees for a private concert are believed to be higher because of the security costs, accommodation, and travel.
The sangeet ceremony occurred at the Jio World Convention Centre, where many A-list celebrities joined the couple’s grand wedding ceremony. While the couple is gearing up to tie the knot on July 12, 2024, reports suggest that the big fat wedding will continue until July 14, 2024.
The main wedding ceremony, Subh Vivah, will take place on July 12, and many guests, including international guests such as Adele, Drake, and Lana Del Rey, are supposed to entertain the guests. The Shubh Aashirwad ceremony will follow on July 13, followed by the final event, the Mangal Utsav, or wedding reception, on July 14.
While the other remaining international performers’ remuneration remains under wrap, Justin Bieber’s fees are supposed to be higher considering his normal private show charges of $2.5 to $6 million. This is all for now. Stay with Soap Opera Daily for more such updates.
