Kate Middleton and Prince William were the first members of the British royal family to welcome Emanuel Macron, who is the French president and his wife Brigitte Macron to the U.K. on July 8. They greeted the couple at RAF Northolt around 11 a.m. Kate wore Christian Dior for the first time, a bar jacket from the French Fashion House’s 2024 collection. It pays tribute to Dior’s iconic 1947 New Look. It emphasised feminine tailoring. She wore it with a matching hat, Princess Diana’s earrings and necklace from Queen Elizabeth’s collection.
Prince William often takes important hosting duties on behalf of King Charles with Kate Middleton by his side. They welcome foreign guests to state banquets. During their Qatar visit, they did this with Kate making a rare appearance amid her cancer treatment. Meanwhile, in January, the Princess of Wales announced her remission. She also spoke about the phase after the treatment at her Colchester Hospital on July 2. Meanwhile, after their greeting, the Macrons, Kate and William, travelled to Windsor. King Charles and Camilla welcomed them. A royal salute was also fired in Windsor.
Everyone Went To Windsor Castle!
Macron, his wife, Charles and Camila went to Windsor Castle. The Prince and Princess of Wales also followed in a different horse-drawn coach. The French and British National Anthems were played. After that, everyone went to have lunch inside Windsor Castle. Then Brigitte and Macron went to London. They laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. Then they returned to Windsor Castle for a state banquet.
Meanwhile, King Charles spoke about the various threats both countries are facing. He said that as friends and allies, they face them together. The challenges have no borders. The nations share not just values but also determination. The Macrons are staying at Windsor Castle. They visited the U.K. less than two years after hosting King Charles and Queen Camilla in France.
