Currently, King Charles and Queen Camilla are on an official tour in Australia. However, their visit has become somewhat tainted due to the protests they were met with during their tour. Previously they faced a verbal attack at the Parliament House. The monarch decided to put the incident behind him and move on with the tour.
Unfortunately, even the following day brought another protest to King Charles. When he arrived at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence in Sydney, an older gentleman greeted him. He was Allan Murray from the Metropolitan local Aboriginal land council. The elder alluded to Lidia Thorpe’s controversial outburst on Monday.
“Welcome to country,” Allan greeted Charles. ” We’ve got stories to tell and I think you witnessed that story yesterday in Canberra but the story is unwavering and we’ve got a long way to achieve what we want to achieve and that’s our own sovereignty,” he reminded the king of the previous day’s incident.
At the time, The Monarch had absolutely no choice but to respectfully nod at Allen. “We are proud sovereign people,” Murray added, as he went on to welcome Charles onto the stage. “I was out in the Bush in Victoria in 1966 trying to get the fire going was a problem because we didn’t have one of those,” the king smiled as a person pulled out a lighter to start the smoking ceremony.
The smoke signifies a welcome to indigenous land, as members of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation gather around the fire pit. The ceremony also featured a dance performance by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers. The King thoroughly enjoyed the performance. “That looked like a good exercise. I don’t think I can still do it at my age,” he joked.

It is being said that Charles wasn’t baffled by the protester who directed verbal attacks at him and took it in stride. His wit and well-meaning behavior at the event prove that he knows very well how to tackle such situations and compose himself.
