Buckingham’s Palace’s Grand State Visit!
King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to host the Amir of Qatar and his first wife on December 3 and 4 this year, according to the Buckingham Palace. We don’t know all the details of the visit from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani yet. However, there will likely be a big banquet at Buckingham Palace where the royal women can wear their tiaras.
This visit news comes at the end of a year when Charles has been getting treatment for cancer. It has also arrived just a month after he and Camilla returned from a trip to Australia and Samoa. So, it’s unclear which royal family members will be with the King and Queen during this visit. But, as royal fans know, usually it is Kate and Prince William, so we expect them to help welcome foreign guests.
The couple often meet them and join them for the official arrival with the King and Queen at Horse Guards Parade, near the palace. Earlier this year, while Charles was undergoing cancer treatment, Princess Kate wasn’t able to attend too. Therefore, William led the welcoming for the Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako during their visit in June.
After supporting families affected by a tragic stabbing in Southport on October 10, Kate hopes to attend the Remembrance Sunday event on November 10. Charles’ first state visit as King was with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, in November 2022. As Prince of Wales, he visited Qatar eight times, and in 2007 and 2013, Camilla joined him when she was the Duchess of Cornwall.
