King Charles is reportedly in discussions to visit his younger son in America but a few other royal family members are against it. As per reports, Prince William and Queen Camilla are not really in favour of the monarch wanting to mend relationships with Prince Harry. Despite this, Charles is keen on being a ‘friendly grandfather’ to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet and wants to visit them. Read on to know more!
Charles Misses His Grandchildren; Plans A Visit To US
According to royal expert Tom Quinn, the King wants to connect with his estranged son and grandchildren. He would even travel to Montecito, California, where Harry resides with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two beautiful kids.
Quinn spoke to the Mirror UK and said, “He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be.” In addition, there is a gap in the King’s schedule next month so a visit to George Washington’s land seems possible. It seems like the monarch is all set to offer a olive branch to the Duke.

Despite all the efforts of King Charles, Harry is still ‘hesitant’ to bring the children to British land. Previously, Tom had said that there is ‘no way’ the Duke or Duchess would return to the UK. But, he seems more convinced about the ongoing discussions for the King to embark on a ‘private visit’ to the USA. A source revealed that the King is ‘feeling a little better’ after his cancer diagnosis in February.
So, if this trip actually takes place, it might be the start of royal feud’s end. They further claimed, “This feud has gone on for far too long, and King Charles is anxious to sort it out – but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s home turf, particularly if he wants to see his grandchildren.” Royal family fans know that the Duke is also eager to resolve the issues so he will definitely be ‘open’ to the idea of welcoming his father to the States.

However, there are other royal family members who seem to be against this notion. As per reports, Queen Camilla and William are hesitant about the visit and both of them have their own reasons. Camilla is concerned about her husband’s health with his upcoming royal duties, she doesn’t want the stress to get to him. As for William, he ‘can’t understand’ his father’s desire to see Harry.
A source claimed, “William can’t understand why Charles would go out on a limb like this.” The royal rift will definitely get better if Charles actually visits the Duke and his family in the US, as the feud between them is getting worse with every passing minute.
