King Charles III’s New Portrait Released
The 75-year-old King, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, looks absolutely royal in the new portrait. The just-released photograph coincides with Queen Camilla’s tribute to members of the armed forces, where she praised them as a source of inspiration and pride.
According to the BBC, Armed Forces Day is observed on the last Saturday of June, and this tradition was established in the UK in the late 2000s. In addition, this day is dedicated to honouring veterans, military personnel, and service families.
The new portrait of the monarch was taken by Hugo Burnand, who is known for his royal photography. He was also the one who clicked the pictures of King Charles during his coronation in 2023.
This image shows Charles in the Field Marshal’s uniform, the highest rank in the British Army. In his role, he serves as the ceremonial head of the armed forces. Furthermore, he recently attended the D-Day commemorations in Normandy, France and wore a tan variant of his Marshal uniform.
On this auspicious occasion, Queen Camilla commended the ‘remarkable bravery’ of the armed forces who led Europe’s liberation from Nazi Germany in 1944. She said that 8- years on, the “same spirit and those same qualities remain much in evidence throughout our Armed Forces”, who “undertake your duties in the face of a multitude of challenges and dangers”.

The Queen also said, “In so doing, you not only protect these Isles, but also defend liberties way beyond these shores. Your determination, unrelenting efforts and selfless loyalty to each other and to the United Kingdom are as enduring as our gratitude.” Royal family followers know that Camilla is the daughter of an Army officer herself and she reflected upon the sacrifices and impact military life has on families.
In the end of her video message, she praised the military personnel and concluded by saying that armed forces support and strengthen our nation. Kudos to all the armed forces for their inspiration, reassurance, and pride. Stay glued to Soap Opera Daily for more such insightful updates on the Royal Family!
