King Charles posted a congratulatory message to Prince Harry over the last weekend to mark his son’s 40th birthday; it was the olive branch the Duke of Sussex was hoping for. After two years of birthday snubs, the official Royal Family social media accounts shared a picture of Harry smiling along with an emoji of a cake and wrote, ‘Wishing the Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday.’
This wish marked the first public acknowledgement from the King and William towards the Duke in the last two years. The relationship between Harry and his estranged royal family has been fractious ever since he stepped away from royal duties and moved to California. And now it has come to attention that a friendly call was shared between the father-son duo on Harry’s birthday last weekend.
A royal correspondent, Katie Nicholl, has shared that sources close to the monarch ‘insist’ that Charles called his youngest son, aiming to keep their relationship ‘back on track.’ Nicholl cited a royal insider who told Vanity Fair that the King had always wanted to publicly acknowledge his son’s birthday and that he is sure Charles must’ve spoken to him on his D-day.

Furthermore, the royal correspondent also highlighted that the father-son duo ‘do speak on the phone’ and relations appear ‘positive’ between them. The King is thought to be ‘hopeful’ about how their relationship could ‘evolve’ from this point. Previous sources claimed that King Charles is ‘keener than ever’ to resolve his relationship with his youngest son.
Despite these efforts from Charles, Harry’s reconciliation with William seems a bit difficult. But we do hope that it all gets better between the royal family! For more such updates on the royal family, keep reading Soap Opera Daily!
