Fans of Home and Away have been left worried after strange rumours spread online about some of the show’s stars. One much-loved actress has now spoken up to clear the air. Read on to find out more about it.
Rumours Cause Confusion
Lyn Collingwood, who played Colleen Smart from the very beginning of the soap until her last appearance in 2013, became the subject of a disturbing death hoax recently. A post on social media claimed she had passed away, which led some fans to share condolences before learning it was false. She wasn’t the only star targeted.
Other favourites like Ray Meagher, Ada Nicodemou, Georgie Parker, and Tessa James have also been caught up in similar fake posts. These hoaxes have wrongly claimed deaths or serious illnesses, leaving fans shocked and upset. The false stories have shown just how strongly viewers still care about the actors who helped make Home and Away what it is. And now Lyn herself has spoken up with her usual humour, putting the rumours to rest.
Home and Away: Lyn Clears Things Up
Speaking out, Lyn said very clearly that she is not dead. She admitted that, of course, it will happen one day, but “not yet.” She joked that she has been enjoying red wine but is still very much here. The actress also addressed whether she would ever return to Summer Bay. Lyn said a few years ago she might have thought about it. But at her age now, she doesn’t see it happening. She even laughed that she feels “12 inches shorter” than before, and clarifies she has no plans to come back.
At the same time, another former cast member revealed she nearly made a comeback. Rebecca Breeds, who played Ruby Buckton, explained that years ago there was a storyline where the River Boys went to England, and producers wanted her to return. But she was working on another show, We Are Men, so she couldn’t take part.
Even if returns don’t happen, the affection for these stars proves just how big a mark Home and Away has left on viewers. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Home and Away news and updates.
