Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been on the receiving end of relentless backlash in recent times. No matter what the couple does to land on the good side of people and media, they keep getting the shorter end. Even their recent welfare acts amid the devastating LA fires was received negatively by people. Some labeled the Sussexes as ambulance chasers, while others called them attention seekers.
Hot on the heels of that controversy, Vanity Fair released a feature on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. It was “scathing,” to say the least. Now, reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess are “upset and bruised.” Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield revealed that the couple is very disturbed by the write-up. “It is my understanding that they are upset over it [and] I’m being told that things aren’t good for them right now.”
Furthermore, she added that Meghan’s show has been postponed. And postponing it was Netflix’s idea, not hers. Moreover, she invested a lot of time, energy, and resources in rebranding herself. Now, all of that seems to be going down the drain. The VF feature also claimed that a source close to Harry and Meghan shared that Harry is rather comfortable with Meghan being the primary breadwinner of their family. Tha article also painted Harry’s image as “lost and naive”.
Can Meghan’s Show Change The Narrative?
Ms. Schofield also hinted that Harry and Meghan’s intentions were to perhaps win public sympathy when they set out on the LA Fire’s welfare endeavours. However, the results were rather contrasting. The couple failed to garner sympathy, or any positive emotion for that matter. Instead, they only received name-calling and backlash. And that has left them bruised, upset, and confused. They are now pondering on how to move forward.
We can only hope that when Meghan’s show finally debuts, it receives a positive feedback from the public. Netflix has already revealed some of the guests on the show, and they, indeed, are some big names. So, at least that might work in the show’s favour.
