Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been busy with staff cuts. According to Page 6, the Sussex couple is not keeping in touch with the communications team. Six staff members left the couple in June. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal palace in 2020. Since then, 25 people have left their working team. Some of the sources even told Page Six that many departures haven’t been publicised.
The Sussex couple is doing so as they want to save cash. Their European communications director, Charlie Gipson and deputy press secretary, Kyle Boulia, have also left. Furthermore, Lianne Cashin, the head of operations at Archwell and Disha Tank, who was the director of communications of the company, have also left. The Duchess of Sussex’s personal assistant and social manager also departed to work somewhere else.
The Couple Is Saving Money!
Another reason for staff cuts is the couple’s Netflix deal. It is going to end this year. Furthermore, sources claim that it was said to be $100 million is closer to $20 million. While the couple’s documentary series and With Love Meghan were popular, Polo and Hard to Invictus failed to impress the viewers. Elsewhere, Netflix is focusing on first-look deals rather than big contracts. So, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could resign from the platform for less money than the deal.
Furthermore, they have a hefty security bill of around $2 million. They also have to pay the staff in communications, Archwell Foundation, production and employees at their home in Montecito. The couple also pays the money for the tours to Nigeria and Colombia. Furthermore, there have been many claims that Prince William and Meghan Markle are difficult to work with.
