But insiders revealed that “Duchess Difficult” wanted more than just a glossy spread. Yep, Meghan wanted everything, including the photographer, the writer, the final edit, the cover lines, and even the global issue. In fact, she went straight to the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour to plead her case.
One insider said, “Meg asked for control over everything. Nobody gets that. Not even Beyoncé.” Meanwhile, supermodel legend Linda Evangelista outlucked Harry’s partner because Enninful had already locked her in for the UK cover. He wasn’t ready to make any further changes, and Markle wasn’t happy.
Meghan Burned the Bridges With Edward Enniful
Next, Meghan ditched the whole feature, ghosting the pages of British Vogue without blinking twice. However, Meghan still hoped to manifest her double-cover dream and demanded a Zoom call with Anna. Edward asked her to front the “Forces for Change” issue, but she opted to play guest editor instead. But in 2022, Enninful was “furious” at Markle when she pulled the plug.
“The Duchess and her team had high expectations… but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations,” an insider explained. They revealed that all Edward could promise was “a big showy feature inside the magazine and online. Eventually, Meghan’s refusal led to a fallout, and they reportedly aren’t besties anymore.
