Meghan Markle and royal controversy go hand in hand! The Duchess of Sussex is making headlines for a new book packed with tantalizing royal tidbits. The ex-palace insiders claim that she has a “messiah complex.” Yep, you read that right! According to them, Meghan saw herself as the one who would carry on Princess Diana’s work. But the fairy tale didn’t go as planned, leading to more BTS drama. Catch the whole tea below!
Meghan Markle: Did Meghan Believe She Was a Saviour?
The latest book by royal expert and journalist Tom Quinn gives readers an inside scoop on Meghan Markle and other royals. The book paints her as somebody with big dreams of changing the world. However, she had a not-so-subtle frustration about not doing things on her own terms.
One former staffer revealed, “Meghan really did have a messiah complex… all her big ideas were about doing good.” According to them, she wanted to become the global champion of the “poor and marginalised” just like Princess Diana. So, where did she miss the mark? It turned out Markle’s royal approach didn’t sit well with palace traditions.
In addition, folks always drew a parallel between her and Kate Middleton. After all, both the women entered the royal family as “outsiders.” While Kate handled the scrutiny and gossip with grace, the Suits actress saw things differently. One source explained Middleton saw the backbiting gossip as an essential part of being a royal, but Markle couldn’t stand it.

Why Was Markle Nicknamed “Mystic Meg?”
Plus, the American tycoon’s warm gestures, like hugging and cheek kissing, allegedly made Prince William and King Charles III uncomfortable. They even earned her the nickname “Mystic Meg” among palace staff, followed by “Duchess Difficult.” Ouch. Moreover, there’s the issue of where the Sussexes lived.
Markle felt humiliated when she got the Nottingham Cottage as her residence in 2017. Insiders claimed she saw it as a “reflection on how the royal family were belittling her husband.” Meanwhile, another source suggested that Prince Harry had not even considered himself a “spare” before his marriage. They added, “I think she was oversensitive on Harry’s behalf.”
We don’t know how much of it is true, but royal watchers will talk about this for a long time! Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more tea on Meghan Markle and other royals.
