Meghan Markle is thriving this year when it comes to her business ventures. But nobody spoon fed her all the success she’s basking in right now. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about her wild ride in the world of entrepreneurship. And honestly, it’s not all rainbow and sunshine. Here’s what Markle has to say about her journey!
Meghan Markle: Meg Breaks Silence on Business Setbacks
In the latest episode of the Confessions of a Female Founder podcast, Meghan Markle got refreshingly real. She revealed how “incredibly lonely” launching and running a business can get. Her current project, As Ever, may be thriving, but Markle confessed that the road to success was tough.
Moreover, Harry’s wife touched upon her collaboration with Netflix, calling it a big shift.
“When you only have yourself to answer to, I think it’s two-fold,” she explained. According to the Duchess, it can be both liberating and lonely.
Initially, Meg planned to launch her lifestyle brand all by herself but then she took a U-turn. Why? “I really believe in what Netflix and their CPG [consumer packaged goods] department are doing,” she said. Meanwhile, this isn’t the American star’s first project. In 2022, her podcast Archetypes on Spotify failed miserably but she bounced back.
Thwe Duchess Adresses the Elephant in the Room
This March, Markle announced a new podcast with Lemonada Media, following her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. Additionally, April was a big month for her because she launched her podcast and the first products under As Ever. And guess what? They sold out fast.
Mind you, Meghan has been mentoring and investing in female-led businesses. These include Kadi Lee’s Highbrow Hippie and Hannah Mendoza’s Clevr Blends. “I’m really conscious that I’m not in the business of trying to dilute you,” Meg clarified. Furthermore, Meghan talked about picking a name for the brand.
“Don’t ask anyone’s opinion! It becomes like Survey Monkey at the beginning of a business,” she explained. The royal called it a “word salad” before and claimed that the “twists and turns” were real. “I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes,” she earlier told People about her brand’s controversy. Markle claimed she was figuring it out and being forgiving with herself through it. Keep reading Soap Opera Daily for the latest updates on Meghan Markle. What are your views on her journey.
