The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been trying to build their own brand, and the struggle has been ongoing, especially after stepping away from royal life four years ago. It seems like the Suits actress might not enjoy the fruit of her labour anytime soon. Earlier this year, Meghan Markle quietly announced the launch of her new lifestyle brand, and she also has a new cookery show on the way.
However, it appears that the pressure may be escalating for the couple, with tension rising following the conclusion of their Spotify deal and Harry facing backlash over the Pat Tillman award. In addition, the couple is also worried about the future of their Netflix partnership.
During this difficult time, Meghan Markle reportedly feels constantly criticised and ‘unfairly picked on.’ Even though the royal couple is trying to put up a strong front, the step to succeed independently seems to be taking a toll.
According to royal author Tom Quinn, “There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan caused by Meghan’s increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned – she loves media attention and hates the fact that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of much interest to the American public.”

Meghan announced the launch of American Riviera Orchard back in March but has not made it available to her fans and consumers. Her latest venture’s products are being widely mocked for being expensive.
Quinn added, “Meghan was in tears when the brand launched and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special.” He also talked about how the Suits alum has reached a point where she thinks that anything she does will be unfairly criticised.
Adding to the couple’s challenges, Harry and Meghan’s Spotify venture concluded its run with just 12 episodes. Royal family fans also saw the Duke facing severe backlash over being chosen for the Pat Tillman Award for his contribution to the Invictus Games. Furthermore, their five-year deal with Netflix has also been inked, and there’s been no word on whether the contract will be extended.
