The Duchess Talked About Her Suicidal Thoughts!
Meghan Markle hasn’t even ‘scraped the surface’ of her mental health journey. The estranged royal couple joined CBS Sunday Morning Show host Jane Pauley for their first joint interview in three years.
The interview tied in with the launch of the couple’s new site, Parents Network, which provides a place for parents to go to for help if their kids are being bullied online. After a two-year pilot program, this brave initiative is now available for parents in the US, UK and Canada.
During this interview, the mother-of-two talked about her decision to open up about her own opinions on self harm which she first revealed in the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview. The former actress reflected on her own struggles, noting the connection between her experiences and those of children impacted by harmful online interactions. She highlighted when a person goes through any pain or trauma, a part of their healing journey is to talk about it, especially in her case it was so.
Furthermore, Markle added, “If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone or encourage someone in their life to really, genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good so everything is OK, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that.” As parents of two beautiful kids themselves, the duo talked about their desire to keep their children protected from online bullying and harassment.

They explained that there’s a lot of work to be done in that area and the couple is happy to be a part of it. They encouraged people to “look at it through the lens of ‘What if it was my daughter? What if it was my son? If you look at it through the lens as a parent, there’s no way to see that any other way than to try to find a solution,” Meghan said.
