Royal News: Netflix Deal And Lemonada Changes
Netflix may choose not to renew the agreement with the Sussexes. That decision would affect several projects tied to the deal, including Meghan’s current audio work. Meghan launched Confessions of a Female Founder in April to spotlight women entrepreneurs and the reality of building a business. She previously fronted Archetypes with Spotify.
Lemonada Media produces the new series. Page Six reports that Swedish podcast group PodX plans to acquire Lemonada. That move raises questions about the future direction of its slate. Lemonada runs more than 50 original series and close to 40 partner shows. Its portfolio includes Wiser Than Me and The Sarah Silverman Podcast.
Meghan Puts Podcast On Hold
Meghan told Emma Grede on Aspire that she feels spread too thin. She confirmed she does not plan a second season right now. “People want another one,” she said. “But I need to focus on my business.”
Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, launched at the same time as the podcast’s debut. Meghan called the overlap “perfect synergy”. She said she wanted to let listeners see the early, messy phase of building a company. She also joked, “At some point, the only thing I want to spread thin is my jam.”
With the Netflix contract approaching its end and Lemonada preparing for new ownership, the podcast’s future remains unresolved. For more royal news and updates, follow Soap Opera Daily.
